KARACHI: Athletic pugilists of Sindh Rangers fetched six gold and two silver medals to win honours in the All-Sindh Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Independence Day boxing tournament which concluded at Lyari’s Ustad Abdullah Baloch Boxing Stadium, Peoples Sports Complex, on Wednesday.

Sindh Police had to be contented with second position with two gold and as many silver while National Bank was placed third with two golds.

Additional IG of Sindh Police, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes along with Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Laeeq Ahmed Khan.

Besides the trophies, all the winners received Rs2,000 apiece while runner-up got Rs1,000 each.

56kg: Khair Mohammad (Sindh Rangers) bt Shafi Jan (Sindh Police) 3-0; Zahid (Karachi West) bt Babar Ali (Larkana) 3-0.

60kg: Anil Hussain (Sindh Police) bt Dawood (Hyderabad) 3-0; Sajid Farman (Sindh Rangers) bt Farhan (Mirpurkhas) 2-1.

64kg: Shahzad (Karachi Central) bt Syed Omer (Karachi East) 2-1; Jibran (Sindh Rangers) bt Faraz (Sindh Police) 2-1.

69kg: Shahzad (Hyderabad) bt Khurram (Sindh Rangers) 2-1; Mir Balaj (National Bank) bt Khalil (Karachi South) 3-0.

75kg: Mohammad Ali (Sindh Rangers) bt Saqib (Sindh Rangers) 3-0; Jawaid Akhter (Sindh Police) bt Shiraz (Karachi Central) 3-0.

81kg: Mohammad Iqbal (Larkana) bt Rofus (Hyderabad) walkover; Noor Ali (Sindh Rangers) bt Murtaza (Malir) 3-0.

91kg: Hamza (Sindh Rangers) bt Munib Shah (Sindh Police) 3-0.
