That is absurd - and not more than an allegation. Pakistan Army is a professional army that has never indulged in such acts of cowardice and malice. The figure of 90K included all government employees and their families. Our troops fought there under most adverse conditions. If you think this will happen again then try it out.

Also, never ever in the world history, the famous Peter Principle that "in a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to their level of incompetence" was proved correct, by any army general, after his promotion, so soon. And to the rest of the Indian army personnel, we can only extend our heartfelt sympathies..!

This is going on since well over 100 years since the regiment he belongs to is one of the oldest regiments of the British Indian army, which included Pakistan then. One thing not funny about the regiment is that they are fierce fighters. Ask anybody in the military and they would tell you, they are called the GURKHAS, and the regiment is called the GURKHA REGIMENT. @Imtiaz Hydari Perhaps you are unaware of the BAT teams created by Pakistan. They comprise of Jihadis and Special forces. They carry out beheadings and mutliations which regular uniformed soldiers do not do. So the non combatant Jihadis do it. Now the Indian Army knows these BAT teams. So the new Chief is sending a message to the ISI Jihadi combine - to stop this or we will have to escalate. Nothing in Indian Army is said without thought.

Please check out ceremonial dress for army chiefs from both countries.Indian is usually pretty basic with tie and jacket in olive green. Pakistan army chiefs, like some imperial generals of 100 years ago, have sashes and large medal orders which they have given themselves. Laughing stock by modern standards. If interested, check out other countries chiefs uniforms. Small point but indicative of the self-importance of the Pakistani generals. BTW, most intelligent people look for depth and character in a person and how his shirt or hair is.

I'm Indian and this comment by Indian General is a standard emotional statement generals issue for their first day and dear neighbors should not read too much into it. Every general has to show he is tough and will issue statements like this that even your Pakistani general says during Army national days. This is just showmanship and more reality if what happens on the ground and how it gets worked out. I believe India and Pakistan have better things to do than stupidly fight each other and we both have many internal problems to solve.

I do not see any harm in his comments he just said if beheading kind of incidents happen there will be a fitting response. What else will an army chief say? Put yourselves in his shoes. Let us not overreact to everything.

The brave and honest Generals of the world have never given such statements on taking over as Army Chiefs.
