CHARSADDA: Three persons were killed in different incidents in the district on Saturday.

In the first incident, a motorcyclist identified as Kamran, coming to Umarzai from Peshawar, was killed when his motorcycle collided with another bike, coming from the opposite direction at Sardaryab. He fell into the Kabul River after the collision.

The rescuers recovered his bike from the river but search for the body continued till late night.

In the second incident, three-year-old Saad Khan drowned in the Kabul River when his foot slipped near Garhi Hukam Shah in Hajizai area. The people present on the occasion tried to save the child but the waves swept him away.

Search for his body continued till filing of this report.

It is pertinent to mention that government has banned bathing in the river by imposing Section 144.

In the third incident a youth identified as Sajjad, a resident of Naqai, was killed while another person identified as Badiuz Zamn got injuries when they fell down from the rooftop of a Suzuki van on Batgram Road near Hut Gulabad area in the limits of Charsadda police.

The incident occurred due to overloading. The local people expressed concern over growing road accidents and demanded of the government to put ban on travelling of passengers on the rooftops of the vehicles.
