PESHAWAR/NOWSHERA: Condemning the Israeli bombardment on Palestinian population, political parties and groups have urged the international community to raise voice against the bloodshed and genocide of Muslims.

Members of the women wing of Jamaat-i-Islami held a protest demonstration outside Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday and appealed to the United Nations to take an immediate action against the Israeli onslaught and stop the carnage.

The rally was led by MPA Rashda Riffat and Peshawar JI leader Memona Asghar where the participants were holding banners and placards inscribed with demands for an immediate end to the violence against the innocent Muslims.

Talking to media persons, the protesters said that the UN and Arab League had turned a blind eye towards the massacre of Palestinians and no country had so far bothered to raise voice against the merciless killings of people, including children and women.

They regretted that the continuous aggression of Jewish forces against the innocent Palestinians could not draw the attention of Muslim and other countries.

“Had the disturbance happened in Israel, the US and UK would have launched a campaign against Muslims branding them as terrorists,” the protesters said.

The women appealed to the governments of Islamic states, including Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, to play their role in stopping the genocide of Palestinian Muslims. They said that it was need of the hour that all Muslim states forged unity on this single issue at the UN.

Pakistan Peoples Party, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also condemned the Israeli barbarism and expressed solidarity with the innocent Palestinians. PPP provincial president Khanzada Khan said in a statement that no Muslim could tolerate the barbarism of Israelis as they had crossed all the limits of cruelties.

He said that it was duty of the Muslim states to raise forceful voice against the Israeli atrocities. The PPP leader asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to play his role for raising voice in support of the innocent Palestinians.

In Nowshera, chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Maulana Samiul Haq on Wednesday condemned the ongoing Israeli bombardment on Palestine and urged the Ummah to shun their differences and adopt a united stand against the inhuman aggression of Israel.

Talking to a delegation of religious leaders at Akora Khattak, he said that Israel had launched a military operation against the innocent Muslims with the support of Europe and America.

He said that Israel had been using the latest American fighter jets and tanks to kill the innocent Palestinian women and children, but the United Nations and its friends were keeping mum over the situation.

“Israel is openly violating the international laws and committing crimes against humanity without caring for any world forum because of the strong US support,” Samiul Haq said.

He also condemned the present ruling class in Muslim world and said that they were trying to protect their interests rather than raising voice in support of an Islamic country.

About the ongoing operation in Waziristan, the JUI-S chief criticised the federal and provincial governments for lack of planning to facilitate the internally displaced persons. He requested the people to extend full support to IDPs who had been facing different problems.
