SARGODHA: Five people, including four of a family, were killed in a road accident reportedly caused by overspeeding in Sargodha on Friday, DawnNews reported.

A resident of Sargodha's Istaqlalabad Colony was on his way to Lahore in a private vehicle along with his wife, two daughters and a driver when the car overturned on the way due to overspeeding.

A large number of local residents and onlookers gathered at the site of the fatal accident.

The husband, wife and one of the daughters died on the spot whereas another daughter and the driver of the vehicle succumbed to their wounds while they were being shifted to a hospital.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan. Reckless driving, bad roads and poorly maintained vehicles are often blamed for the accidents.
