RAWALPINDI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid on Tuesday said that like Pervez Musharraf the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri came to Pakistan on his own will but would leave the country if the law permits.

“Those people who violate the law will face the music,” the minister stated while talking to mediapersons after meeting the police personnel who were injured during Monday’s violence and are admitted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

Mr Rashid said the army had launched an operation against terrorists in North Waziristan after which tens of thousands of tribesmen fled from the area to save their lives. The government is striving to facilitate the IDPs.

“There is a dire need to help the displace people. I appeal to philanthropists to donate one water cooler each for the IDPs so that they can have drinking water,” he said.

The minister said Dr Qadri was staging his “revolution drama” to sabotage the military operation and had ordered his activists to torture the police.

He said the police were deployed for the security of the PAT leader, the airport and the citizens but the PAT activists attacked them.
