Musharraf on ECL

Published June 15, 2014

WHAT a shame to know the failure of our judicial system in doing justice. Removing Musharraf’s name from the ECL cannot be justified under the normal law of the land. I fail to understand on what ground this legal step was taken when the person is allegedly involved in so many cases, including treason. The government had not been vocal to stop all political manoeuvring, internal or external, facilitating his removal from the ECL.

People would certainly lose confidence in the judicial system and can label this step as part of the doctrine of necessity.

It may give the green light to all those who intend to misuse power. Letting him move to Karachi was the first step in facilitating his departure.
