RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has decided to hire the services of Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA), Lahore to beautify Murree.

Previously, another Lahore-based company was assigned the task of waste management at the hill station.

The hiring has left redundant Rawalpindi Waste Management Company and Parks and Horticultural Agency of Rawalpindi District.

The decision to employ the Lahore-based companies in civic work was taken at a meeting with MNA Hamza Shahbaz in the chair.

The District administration had been directed to facilitate Lahore based civic agencies for the improvement work in Murree. “The PHA Lahore will do better work as compared to Rawalpindis PHA which failed to perform in the last few years.

It was also decided to introduce open roof tourist buses in Murree to avoid traffic congestion.

The buses will be imported from China which will transport tourists from outside the Murree to the inner area. In the first phase, 10 buses will be run. When contacted, Commissioner Zahid Saeed said a parking area will be constructed outside at Bahra Kahu where people can park their vehicles and use open roof buses or regular buses to enter the Murree.
