KHUZDAR: A shutter down strike was observed in Khuzdar town and adjoining areas on Thursday in response to a call by a little known group called Haqqana Tawar (HT). Shops and business centres remained closed.

According to the HT leaders, the district administration was harassing the general public and the party workers for no reason.

Heavy contingents of police, Levies and Frontier Corps were deployed in and around the city to avert any untoward incident.Meanwhile, another organisation – Baloch Youth – called for a weeklong strike beginning on Saturday.

In a statement sent to the Khuzdar Press Club, a spokesman for the Baloch Youth appealed to the business community to keep their businesses during the strike.
