KARACHI, July 10: Students belonging to the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT), on Thursday, staged a demonstration in front of the Karachi Press Club (KPC), against the occupation of Palestinian areas and killings of innocent people by the Israeli army, demanding of the international community and the Muslim world to take steps to end the brutalities.

They also warned the government to refrain from taking unilateral decision on recognizing Israel and said that such decisions should be taken as per aspirations of the people, through consulting the Parliament.

Carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-Israel slogans, the students chanted slogans against Zionist regime.

Speaking on the occasion, IJT leader Sufyan Dilawar said recognising Israel was equal to legalising aggression against unarmed people.

Criticizing President Pervez Musharraf for his alleged statements in favour of recognizing Israel, he said that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah had opposed the recognition of Israel.—PPI
