HYDERABAD: Asad Malik hit a fine century and Ibtisam Sheikh grabbed 11 wickets as Hyderabad beat Sanghar by seven wickets in a two-day match of PCB inter-district U-19 cricket championship here on Tuesday.

Sanghar, batting first, scored 111 in 28.1 overs with Nisar Hussain hitting a fluent 37 and Mohammad Azeem scoring 30. Hyderabad’s Junaid Ahmed and right-arm leg spinner Ibtisam Sheikh claimed 3-18 and 3-29 respectively.

In reply, Hyderabad amassed 290-8 in 50.5 overs and declared the innings. Asad Malik hit a superb 119 with the help of 17 boundaries while Fawad Ahmed scored a quickfire 61. Sanghar’s Kamran Rahmani and Hassan Baig claimed 2-58 and 2-69 respectively.

In their second innings, Sanghar reached a respectable total of 250 in 61.4 overs. Kamran Rahmani again led the way with a fine 91 with 13 boundaries and two sixes while Nisar Hussain made 37 and Wahid Ali 35. Hyderabad’s Ibtisam Shaikh was deadly with his spin and grabbed 8-102, taking his match tally to 11.

Hyderabad achieved the winning target of 72 for the loss of three wickets with Asad Malik again emerging a topscorer with 33.
