PESHAWAR: At least 35 suspected militants were reported killed and 15 others were injured when security forces launched a massive assault on Thursday in parts of Khyber tribal region’s Bara and Jamrud tehsils.
The suspected militants were killed as jet fighters carried out airstrikes along with a search operation in the tribal region.
The airstrikes in Akakhel area of Bara were aimed at the outlawed Lahskar-i-Islam and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and destroyed at least 11 militant hideouts.
The attack was carried out on insurgent hideouts in the areas Tor Dara, Wache Yone Dawa Toi, Spera Dam, Merokhel, Tirrah valley's Kokhikhel area and the surrounding areas of Akakhel, the sources claimed.
Intelligence intercepts suggest that scores of militants were killed in the airstrikes, including those suspected of involvement in recent attacks in Badbher, Charsadda, at the vegetable market in Islamabad and in Chaman, sources said.
Jet fighters are still carrying out assaults but media personnel do not have free access to the area which is why the information could not be confirmed from independent sources.

Media personnel do not have free access to war zone for the sake of their own safety. The good news is PAF bombarded the hide outs of terrorists. Whether 5 died or 35 died are irrelevant. Whenever there is bombardment, there will definitely be human and properties casualties. This will break bones of the militants and terrorists.

The Government has ordered Pakistan AirForce to launch air strikes after a long gap since 2007, when the then Army Chief dictator Pervaiz Musharraf entered into a "peace deal" with the rogue terrorists in. 2007. Musharraf's hand-picked successor and guarantor of NRO General Kiyani, under the leadership of NRO beneficiary Asif Zardari, also preferred to keep mum against the terrorists and didn't bother to launch air strikes.
The brave action to create deterrence for the terrorists prove seriousness & sincerety of the PMLN Government to win the 12 year long war that has killed 60,000 Pakistanis.
End terrorism and bring back peace into Pakistan.

Pakistan armed forces have the potential to clean up all terrosrits organizations if they are really willing to. I am afraid what will be the reaction from TTP side may be more suicide attacks and killing of innocent people again.

The attack by militants and terrorists and counter attack by Pakistani Forces will continue until one side gives up and definitely it will never be the Pakistani Armed Forces to give up. They have much superior power to fight the militants and terrorists.

Your fear is that there will be the reaction from TTP side may be more suicide attacks and killing of innocent people. This is true but there is greater fear if the militants and terrorists are allowed to continue the blood shed that they are already doing on almost daily basis. One thing I am sure no peace talks will change the hearts of militants and terrorists who love to kill and die. The only alternative is to use force to eliminate them.

How come no bodies? Where r the injured? So the logic that drones had breed revolutionaries does not hold true when jets kill from the sky. The ball is in their court now. But honestly any kind of terrorist should be wiped off the face of the earth.
