LAHORE: Former foreign minister and PTI leader Khursheed Mahmood Kasuri has said the nation is divided over the trial of retired Gen Pervez Musharraf.

"Trial of Musharraf is not based on principles rather the government is doing what suits it. If principles are followed then some other people will also be tried, but the government does not want that," he said.

Talking to reporters at the HRCP office here on Wednesday, Kasuri said the nation was not on the same page on the issue of Musharraf and it was not giving a positive message to the world.

"If the Musharraf trial continues in this manner in which the government is intervening, it may have serious repercussions," he said.
