ISLAMABAD, July 4: Commodore Noman Bashir has been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral with immediate effect, a notification issued by the Ministry of Defence stated on Friday.

Rear Admiral Bashir was commissioned in 1973 in the Pakistan Navy’s operations branch and served in various command and staff appointments, including command of a destroyer, a corvette and two naval aviation squadrons.

He is a graduate of the Joint Service Staff College, Armed Forces War College and the Royal College of Defence Studies.

Presently, he is serving as the commander of the Naval Aviation.—PPI
