KARACHI: Teenager Amin Shafi struggled while overcoming fighting Rayyan Jawwad to land under-13 title in the Sindh ranking tennis championship at Union Club on Friday.

Amin, who learns finer point of the game at Modern Club regularly, handed out 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) defeat to his opponent in the final. Although, he won the match straight but was given a tough time by his opponent who extended him to tie-breaker in the two sets before bowing out.

Hasan Farooq, meanwhile, annexed the men’s singles crown by getting the better of Aqeel Shabbir in fully stretched battle 5-7, 6-0, 10-5.

Results: Men’s singles: Semi-final: Hasan Farooq bt Aqeel Shabbir 5-7, 6-0, 10-5

Final: Hasan Farooq bt Murad Khan 7-5, 6-1

Under-13 singles: Final: Amin Shafi bt Rayyan Jawwad 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5)
