ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will launch an operation against slums from March 24.

The CDA spokesperson said the authority had prepared a plan to remove the 13 illegal slums in the capital.

He said the CDA was coordinating with the interior ministry and Islamabad police for conducting the operation against slum areas, adding that the operation would continue till May.

He also said the first phase of the operation would start from I-11 sector, which hosts the Afghan settlement.

He added that the standing committees of the Senate and National Assembly were pushing hard for the clearance of these areas.
