LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the chief traffic officer to suspend a warden and take departmental action against him for misbehaving with a judge.
Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu had visited the licensing branch at the CTO office on Monday to get his driving licence where a warden, identified as Mubashar, treated the judge rudely and misbehaved him.
In compliance with the court order, Capital City Police Officer Chaudhry Shafique, CTO Sohail Chaudhry and other officers appeared before Justice Sidhu on Tuesday. Warden Mubashar was also present in the court.
The CTO stated that official protocol was arranged on main entrance to the office for the judge who used other gate for entry. He said due to confusion the protocol officers missed the judge. He said the inspector concerned, Ahsan Gondal, had been suspended from service for the glitch.
Justice Sidhu observed warden Mubashar was responsible for the incident, directing the CTO to take action against him and submit a report on Wednesday (today). The judge also issued a show-cause notice to the warden.
