CHARSADDA: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk has said that provision of speedy and cheap justice to people is the joint responsibility of the bench and bar.

He was speaking at separate meetings of Charsadda Bar Association and Tangi Bar Association here on Saturday.

He said that corruption had been eliminated from the higher judiciary, while strict vigil would be kept on the lower judiciary to ensure end of corruption and corrupt practices.

The chief justice said that he had particular affiliation with the Charsadda bar because he and his father had started practice as lawyer from this bar.

He stressed that the role of bench and bar was vital to ensure provision of justice to people.

He said that corruption would never be tolerated in the judiciary, adding that judges of the lower judiciary should keep a close watch on corrupt elements. He announced to donate books to the Charsadda bar library from the personal library of his late father.

Justice Mulk said that soon the building of judicial complex would be completed in Charsadda, where facilities would be provided to facilitate work of the lawyers.

He pledged that a judicial complex would also be constructed in Shabqadar soon. He also visited the under-construction judicial complex building.

Later, the chief justice went to Tangi bar and addressed a function there. He announced that a judicial complex would be built in Tangi which would be equipped with facilities.
