Sadia Saleem is a ceramist and is currently teaching at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. Her solo show, titled “Time lapse”, opened at Koel gallery on February 13th, 2014.

Saleem chose this title because her show does not revolve around a single theme. It was done over a period of time and at various locations, some pieces were done during her residencies abroad, and they talk about experiences and situations of that place.

Explaining her work, Saleem says, "Most ideas emanate as a response to a location."

Saleem has used different mediums in her work. At the entrance was a video projection called "Digital Beach". This work is inspired by a number of children's drawings, in which they visualize themselves in parks or at the beach playing, calling it their idea of a peaceful city.

Through another installation titled "Mechanical Cardiogram", she tried to show the situation of Karachi, the unpredictability of this city.

The show is running until March 03, 2014.
