SIALKOT: The wildlife department officials from Lahore on Thursday captured an Indian leopard from the area along Working Boundary near Pasrur after it seriously injured three locals.
The leopard that entered the Pakistan territory, presumably after crossing the Working Boundary, spread panic in the bordering villages near Pasrur when it attacked and seriously injured three locals -- Muhammad Iqbal, Bashir Ahmed and Ghulam Rasul. The ferocious cat also killed a dog, besides injuring two others.
The injured people were admitted to Pasrur Civil Hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious.
Alarmed by the situation, the local administration contacted wildlife officials in Lahore and sought their help.
The wildlife experts arrived in the area and after tracing the leopard made it unconscious by hitting it with some sedative through a gun.
The officials took the leopard into custody and transported it to Lahore.
Around a month ago the wildlife officials had also captured a deer that had crossed into Pakistan territory from India.
