Three killed on road near Murree

MURREE, Nov 3: Three people were killed and 18 others injured in a traffic accident near here on Sunday.

Rescue officials said the accident occurred when a passenger coach going to Rawalpindi from Murree carrying about 30 passengers fell into a gorge near Tret due to speeding.

The dead included Junaid Abbasi, 15, Mazhar Mehmood, 45, and a woman who could not be identified.

Rescue 1122 ambulances with the help of local residents retrieved the injured from the ravine and shifted them to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

The officials said the condition of the injured, including Naseer Ahmad, Tanzeela Bibi, Sumaira Bibi, Ghazala, Kashif (8) and Sakeena, was serious.
