KARACHI, Sept 12: Pakistan School Sports Olympics organised an Independence Day Defence Day Athletics Inter-School Relay Championship here on Wednesday in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Sindh Olympic Association and the Karachi Athletics Association at PSB’s Karachi Centre.

The championship was inaugurated by Mudassar Arain, secretary general of the Sindh Olympic Association, and Gohar Raza, PSSO president.

A huge turnout of more than 3,000 students from as many as 59 government and private schools was witnessed at the events.

Army Public School (COD), Government Girls College No. 2½, Government National College No.2, DHA Colleges for men and women, Beaconhouse School System, City School PAF Chapter, CAS School, Karachi Grammar School and KN Academy took prominent positions in the relay and athletics competitions.

Chief guest retired Capt Ahmed Zaheer, Registrar IBA, and Raheela Khan, Principal Army College, along with other guests distributed certificates and trophies among athletes.—Agencies
