PPP decides to become party in Benazir murder case

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party decided on Thursday to become party in the Benazir Bhutto murder case and in this regards submitted two applications to gain access to the case records.

Moreover PPP's Secretary-General Sardar Latif Khosa would be counsel for the party in the case.

A public prosecutor had been advocating the case prior to the decision.The PPP on its exit from power had decided to lead the case itself.

The trial of the accused persons, including former president Pervez Musharraf, in the Benazir Bhutto murder case started afresh for the third time in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Tuesday.

The former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was indicted on three counts on Aug 20 this year, in Rawalpindi's anti-terrorism court (ATC) over the 2007 murder of ex-prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

For five long years when in complete power and with all the resources at their disposal the PPP did nothing seriously to determine the killers. In fact, it is the very PPP that bid adieu to Musharraf with an honor guard. Now they want to play politics again over Benazir's death. What nonsense!

PPP has awakened now after farely long time and decided to be a party in the Benazir's murder case. The people are justified to ask them what have been they were doing so for for that much long time? Are they want to gain some more concessions from their Masters abroad and here where they are playing a friendly political match to participate in the courts proceeding.

Stop the circus. PPP was in power for five years and did nothing. Before starting any thing exhume Ms. Bhutto's body, do a independent and internationally supervised autopsy and go from there. CASE AND POINT: Do not paly game with a dead/ murdered person. She was the PM of Pakistan. Have some respect for and elected PM.
