In this cut-throat competitive world, when it comes down to the gaming and entertainment business, Microsoft and Sony’s rivalry is stuff legends are made of.

Both strive to put on a bigger show and inevitably pay millions, for any media exposure given to their hardware or software, to outshine each other. Despite this, both have come to terms with “give and take” policy in relevance to keynote speeches of mega events like Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show. This year, Microsoft Studio’s VP, Phil Spencer is scheduled to kick start this year’s Gamescom with his keynote speech.

The gaming trade show promises to be one of the best ever, as the industry is on the threshold of the new generation of gaming. The truly epic story, of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which has unfolded in the months building up to Gamescom has us all captivated. More than 300000 people are expected to be in Cologne Germany for the event, making this the biggest gaming convention ever.

Sony PlayStation has arranged for a vast setup on show floor, alongside multiple booths joined to make a massive setup in Halls 07.01 and 05.02. Dedicated area has been setup to demo upcoming PS3 exclusives such as GT6 (with steering wheel setup), Last of Us (with complete re-imaging of the scenes from the game), Beyond: Two souls and PS VITA.

Games for the newly announced PS4 were also present with a demo and a dedicated section. Most notably Knack, Killzone: Shadowfall and Infamous: Second Son. Wonderbook also had a demo present for kids.

PlayStation indies also had a dedicated setup with nearly all it’s great titles having a showing Tear Away, Puppeteer, Walking with dinosaurs, etc. Also the news coming out of the camp is that the love for indie titles has never been higher with the list for PS4 indies .
