ISLAMABAD, May 7: Three people, allegedly involved in an armed attack over a land dispute, were arrested on Tuesday by the Nilore Police.

Mohammad Rafique and Mohammad Younas had been gunned down while Ghulam Safeer and Mohammad Israr were injured in Tumair on March 1 when two groups clashed with each other over a dispute involving occupation of 200 kanals.

A case had been registered with Nilore police station in response to a complaint lodged by Mohammad Altaf.

A team was then constituted which succeeded in arresting the accused.

Police arrested one alleged killer, a native of Sargodha, who confessed to the crime and disclosed the whereabouts of two other accomplices who were in Peshawar.

Sian Inam from Rawat had purchased land measuring 200 kanals in Tumair Village, and had engaged in a dispute with a local group which claimed the land’s ownership.

He then deployed guards at the site but on March 1, dozens of armed men attacked.

Both groups fired at each other and suffered bullet injuries. After hours, the attackers were pushed back and forced to escape from the scene.
