LAHORE, May 4: Lahore, Multan, Sialkot and Faisalabad won their respective quarter-finals during the second Motorway Police U-16 hockey championships at the National Hockey Stadium here on Saturday.

Four-goal Awais helped Lahore outclass Bannu 7-3 in the first quarter-final.

His team-mates Afsar Yaqoob and Abu Bakar were the other scorers while Fahad netted two goals and Hameed added one for the losing side.

The next quarter-final saw three-goal Adnan Khalid power Multan to oust Sargodha 5-1.

Shahbaz and Shakeel Abbas were the other scorers while Shajeel reduced defeating margin for Sargodha.

Also, Sialkot booked a place in the last four thanks to Nohaiz Zahid Malik, who banged home three goals helping his team beat Karachi 5-0 with Awais and Ali Raza contributing one goal each.

In the other quarter-final, Faisalabad thumped Rawalpindi 12-0 with Mudassar and Sohail making contribution of three goals each.

Asif also netted two goals while Asad Mehmood, Daud, Abu Baker and Mohsin chipping in with one goal each.
