NAWABSHAH, May 18: Gastroenteritis has spread in Nawabshah city and the surrounding area due to consumption of polluted water and hot weather.

A survey conducted by this correspondent revealed the spread of the disease in the city and the surrounding villages namely Sardar Sher Mohammad Rind, Santha Singh, Barrister Jamil, Hoath and Bucheri.

Doctors said that gastroenteritis cases were common these days as most of the clinics were receiving 25 patients of the disease daily. They said that the disease was spreading due to contaminated water and hot weather.

A doctor at the Peoples Medical College Hospital said that the hospital was receiving about 20 cases of the disease daily.

HEATWAVE: Over a dozen people fell unconscious when mercury touched 48 degree Celsius here on Sunday.
