LAHORE, July 6: Provincial Health Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu has directed the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) to probe an incident of removing kidney of a youth fraudulently by a private hospital doctors.

According to a handout, the health minister took notice of a complaint that a man identified as Yar Muhammad took 20-year-old labourer Kashif Ali of Sundar Adda Multan Road to Islamabad for sending him abroad.

However, Kashif’s kidney was removed at a private hospital in Islamabad deceitfully on the pretext of medical checkup.

Tahir Sindhu has referred the case to the healthcare commission to conduct investigation into the incident and take action against the accused.

The health minister later visited the house of Kashif Ali to inquire after him.

On the occasion, he directed the officials concerned to shift the patient to Mayo Hospital for complete treatment.

The minister also directed the Lahore CCPO to take action after registering a case against the elements involved in this menace. — Staff Reporter
