LAKKI MARWAT, May 28: Police foiled a robbery attempt and arrested an alleged outlaw on Tuesday in Wanda Fateh Khan village in the limits of Lakki Marwat police station.
Following a tip-off about the outlaw, identified as Sakhi Zaman, DPO Abdul Rashid directed the Lakki police station to take action, an official said and added that the police reached the village and cordoned off a house where the outlaw had entered for robbery.
He said that the police party overpowered Mr Zaman and seized an AK-47 rifle from his possession. He claimed that the accused was also wanted by police in cases of killing a constable and young boy.
Another police party arrested five proclaimed offenders from different areas. He said that the arrested outlaws included Miramshah, Ameer Khan, Habibullah, Humayun and Shaheen.
KILLED: A man was killed and his companion injured when their rivals opened fire on them in Abakhel village.
Police said that Mohammad Ismail was shot dead and Islam Badshah seriously wounded when they came under attack from their rivals in Mohallah Sherikhel.
They said that they had registered a case against the alleged killers, including Saifullah, Hayatullah, Abdul Rashid and Abdul Karim, on the complaint of Mohammad Anwar, brother of the deceased Mohammad Ismail. —Correspondent
