LAHORE, Dec 18 The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has appointed 19 technical officials for the smooth conduct of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Boxing tournament being held from Jan 1-9 at Benazir Sports Complex KPT Karachi.

The appointed officials included one technical delegate, six technical officials and 12 neutral referee judges, said a spokesman of Pakistan Boxing Federation here on Friday.

Nieva Embuldeniya from Sri Lanka has been named as a technical delegate. She is also additional EC member of AIBA.

The technical officials are Herbert Embuldeniya (Sri Lanka), Olimjon Makhmudov (Uzbekistan), Major Maniam (Malaysia) and Syed Abdul Kadir (Singapore), Su Kuk Kang (Korea) and Dr Jerry Yu (Chinese Taipei).

The five neutral referee judges are Le Van hung (Vietnam), Yu Kamiseki (Japan), Bekpenbetvo Bakhytzhan (Kazakhstan), Dante De Castro (Philippines) and Weng Tong from Hong Kong will supervise the 21-nation mega event.

Seven more referee judges also arriving with the participating teams are Kareem Qasim Khenyab (Iraq), Lakshman Rathnasuriya (Sri Lanka), Ashok Panwar (India), Tursunov Hamid (Uzbekistan), Mohamed al Harazi (Yemen), Mohammad Rustam (Afghanistan) and Sultan al Harami from United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, President, PBF Doda Khan Bhutto said, “We are very grateful to AIBA and Asian Boxing Confederation for their support and cooperation.”—APP
