NOBODY can deny the importance of quality education because a society without education cannot make progress…. The government has focused its attention on spreading [education] but it should also give priority to religious education … so that people could know about their rights as well as others’ rights…. The government has initiated plans for the improvement of education; [among these is the provision of] free-of-cost books to students in government schools. But it is significant to note that in this era of development most of our institutions/schools are lacking even the basic facilities … like furniture, drinking water, toilets, boundary walls, fans, etc.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti has time and again promised to solve all such problems ... on a priority basis … but he is yet to fulfil his commitment in the true sense. The chief minister has rightly said that development of education is the guarantee [for] a bright future of a nation…. While presiding over a joint meeting of government officials with a delegation of the DFID, the chief minister stressed the need to give full attention to the improvement of educational facilities in the province….

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, miscreants have started blowing up schools…. It is  duty of the government to take drastic decisions for protection of the existing buildings. — (April 25)
