TANK/LANDI KOTAL, Oct 10: Unidentified motorcyclists gunned down two former members of a peace committee in Chadrarh village in Tank district on Monday.

Locals said two Mehsud tribesmen from Bangnar, Hayatullah and his nephew Zakirullah, were attacked in the fields, adding that the two died instantly. No group claimed responsibility for the killings until late night.

Meanwhile, a blast on the Torkhum-Landi Kotal Bypass Road destroyed a vehicle and two military jeeps it carried for Nato forces in Afghanistan on Monday. However, no damage to human life was reported.

Local officials said setting off a time device fitted beneath the vehicle caused the blast. A local militant group, Abullah Ezzam Brigade, claimed responsibility for the blast and said they would continue attacking Nato vehicles. — Dawn Report
