AFP picks athletes for SAG

KARACHI, Dec 30 The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has named a 25-member squad including eight women's for the 11th South Asian Games being held in Dhaka from Jan 29 to Feb 9, 2010.

The squad was announced by the chairman of selectors Brig Iqtidar Naseer Ahmed.

Men Haq Nawaz (400m hurdles), Basharat Ali (discus throw), Mohammad Fayyaz (long jump), Mohsin (110m hurdles), Abdul Rashid (110m hurdles), Liaquat Ali (100m, 200m 4x100m relay), Mohammad Asif Javed (100m, 200m, 4x100m relay), Ali Amir Murad (100m, 4x100m relay), Afzal Baig (4x100m relay), Mohammad Imran Tahir (4x100m relay), Zafar Iqbal (triple jump), Mohammad Imran (javelin throw), Imran Yasin (javelin throw), Tahir Shafiq (400m, 4x400m relay), Asad Iqbal (400m, 4x400m relay), Ali Mohammad (4x400m relay) and Kamran (4x400m relay).

Women Naseem Hameed (100m, 4x100m relay), Nadia Nazir (100m, 4x100m relay), Javeria Hasan (4x100m relay), Sadaf Siddiqui (4x100m relay), Rozina Shafqat (400m, 100m, 4x400m relay), Shagufta Noureen (400m, 4x400m relay), Gulnaz Ara (4x400m relay) and Bushra Perveen (4x400m relay).—Sports Correspondent
