LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked PML-N opponents to introspect about what they have done for the nation and the country before making “baseless” allegations against others.

Talking to Senator Ataur Rehman on Friday, the chief minister said the elements had through their sit-ins and lockdown obstructed prosperity of the masses.

The people rejected these elements on each occasion knowing that these “defeated elements are apprehensive of the fast progress of the country,” he added.

He said that they feared the completion of “the most transparent” development projects (by the PML-N) would end their politics.

He said the new records of transparency and progress had been set under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the last three and half years, unprecedented in the past 70 years.

“Pakistan is changing,” he said, adding that “the thinking of some politicians has not changed”.

The chief minister also presided over a meeting in which fine points of Lahore Knowledge Park Project were reviewed.

He said the government had handed over land to IT University which would set up its campus at the Park by start of 2018.

He said steps to execute this project with uniqueness and latest themes were needed for which professionals and experts would be hired as all the desired resources were being provided for the purpose.

He ordered the formation of committee to present a plan in a day regarding the execution of the project.

Educationist and former federal minister Dr Attaur Rehman joined the meeting through video link from Dubai.
