LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau chairman has directed all regional offices to take indiscriminate action against corrupt elements especially in mega scandals.

“The NAB is trying its best to recover the looted wealth from the corrupt and rid the country of the menace. The NAB chairman has already issued direction in this regard,” bureau’s Lahore Director General Burhan Ali said during a cheque-distribution ceremony among the affected persons here on Tuesday.

He said the NAB was tightening the noose around the corrupt elements.

“Accountability is going to enter into a new era and the corrupt will not be spared,” he said, adding the bureau chairman had directed all regional offices to take indiscriminate action against corrupt elements especially in mega scandals.

The Lahore bureau distributed Rs20.5 million among affectees of different scams. The amount was recovered through plea bargain from the accused persons. The accused persons who opted for plea bargain also stood convicted.
