KARACHI: A young man, said to be a sympathiser of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, was found shot dead in Orangi Town on Friday morning, police said.

They said that the bullet-riddled body was found at a playground near the Jamal High School.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Later, the body was identified as that of Abdul Raheem aka Guddu, 25. He was a rickshaw driver.

Iqbal Market SHO Abdul Majeed Marwat said that the police were yet to ascertain the motive for the killing.

However, an ASWJ spokesperson said that Abdul Raheem was kidnapped, tortured and shot dead.

He said that the victim was an ASWJ supporter and it appeared to be a case of targeted killing.

He said that a brother of the victim, Arman, who was an ASWJ office-bearer, was killed last year in Orangi Town.
