MIANWALI, Sept 7: District Police Officer Faisal Gulzar awarded on Saturday one-month computer training certificates to 24 students of Sifwat Ghayur learning centre at Mianwali Police Lines.
Addressing the ceremony, the DPO said apart from their duty of providing security to public the local police decided to manage free of cost facilities to educate men and women of the area in computer which was need of the hour.
He said: “As the government did not have funds for the project we have arranged it from our welfare programme and hired qualified male and female instructors. In each four-hour session in the morning, 24 women and in the evening 24 male students are being taught by female and male teachers, respectively.”
The DPO said for September session the police received more than 200 applications for the course but selected only 24 men and women as per arrangements for each session.
Later, DPO Faisal Gulzar inaugurated a mobile police complaint centre, a first ever of its kind comprising a mobile van.
The DPO said the mobile centre would collect complaints which would be redressed within seven days.
“The mobile complaint cell is equipped with facilities of computer, internet, wireless, CCTV camera. And each complaint received on this centre will be immediately transferred to control centre at DPO office for quick redressal.”
