Protest over non-payment of salary

SANGHAR, Dec 15: Hundreds of lower grade employees of the Education Department protested on Monday against the non-payment of their remunerations for last five months.

Rally began from the office of the EDO Education and after marching on different roads reached the local press club. Protesters blocked the Sanghar-Nawabshah-Mirpurkhas road disturbing the traffic for many hours.

Ali Khan Nizamani, Noor Mohammad, Abdul Razzaq and others said that their families couldn’t celebrate Eid due to non-payment of salaries. They said that due to poverty, they were unable even to afford two square meals and unable to pay fees of their children.

“Our salaries are being withheld on one or the other pretext and at times the Education Department announces of making payments the next month which never comes,” they concluded.
