GUJAR KHAN: City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera ordered disciplinary action against police officials for failing to tag complaints and directed the immediate arrest of proclaimed offenders and registration of cases on complaints pending at police stations in Kallar Syedan and Kahuta.
The officer was holding an open katcheri at Kallar Syedan Police Station jointly with Kahuta Police Station, which was largely attended by residents of the area.
Residents, while highlighting their individual cases, complained about poor investigations, failure to affix E-tags to applications and delays in the arrest of proclaimed offenders.
The CPO ordered immediate departmental action against four negligent officials and directed the registration of cases on complaints regarding land grabbing.
Mr Sukhera also ordered the registration of a case immediately on a theft application in Kahuta and directed the police to trace the thieves.
The CPO said that no dereliction of duty or delay in ensuring merit-based and fair investigations would be tolerated and that all public matters must be addressed at the police station level.
