Man ‘kills’ daughter for refusing to delete TikTok account
RAWALPINDI: A man allegedly gunned down his 16-year-old daughter over her refusal to delete her TikTok account in the limits of Rawat police station on Wednesday.
According to the police, the family of a 9thclass student, who died on Tuesday, claimed that her death was a result of suicide, but after the police launched an investigation, it turned out to be a case of murder which resulted over a dispute on TikTok use.
The girl was shot dead allegedly by her father who escaped after committing the crime.
The police later detained him and registered a murder case on the complaint of detective foot constable Shahbaz Anjum and launched an investigation.
In the FIR, the police official said he was on duty on Wednesday when he received information that a man, who was a resident of Dhoke Chaudhrian, had killed his daughter after she refused to delete her TikTok account.
According to the police, “the bullet wounds helped the police dispute the claim of the girl’s family that she had committed suicide”.
A police spokesman said a murder case was registered with Rawat police station.
He said a postmortem of the body had been conducted, evidence collected from the scene of the crime and investigations were being conducted from all angles.
He said crime against women and children was intolerable, and the accused would be brought to justice.
