Israeli President Isaac Herzog has praised Trump’s “commitment” to the release of all captives held in Gaza shortly after the US president threatened Hamas following a meeting with those freed and the relatives of those who are still being held, Al Jazeera reports.

Herzog thanked Trump for “hearing the cries of our sisters and brothers”.

“Whoever saves a single life, saves a whole world,” he wrote on X, citing scripture.
