Sharjeel slams JI, Muttahida
KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has rejected the allegations leveled by the opposition parties regarding contractual appointments in public sector universities.
In a statement, he said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Jamaat-i-Islami were attempting to politicise the issue to serve their own agendas.
He said that the government had nothing to do with the appointments in the varsities as universities were authorise to fill vacancies after fulfilling codal formalities.
He said that the government’s measures aimed to bring much-needed reforms to the education sector by ensuring transparency and accountability. “The recruitment policy is being introduced to ensure all appointments are made strictly on merit and with impartiality.”
He said that stringent measures had been implemented regarding the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) and strict action was being taken against those found responsible for misconduct.
He called for the unity of all stakeholders along with the government for the betterment of the students and teachers of Sindh.
