Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said “we are exacting a heavy price for any attempt to harm us”, Al Jazeera reports.

He added that the current situation in northern Israel, along the border with Lebanon, “will not continue” and that he was determined to do everything possible to return northern evacuees to their homes.

Hezbollah and the Israeli military have been exchanging fire on the Israel-Lebanon border since the war on Gaza began about a year ago.
