US’s CIA Director William Burns has said a more detailed Gaza ceasefire proposal would be made in the coming days, Al Jazeera reports.

“We will make this more detailed proposal, I hope in the next several days, and then we’ll see,” Burns, who is the chief US negotiator, said at an event in London.

Al Jazeera quoted him as saying that whether a ceasefire deal can be achieved in the coming days was a question of political will.

Burns said the US and other mediators in Gaza would continue to work tirelessly as there is “no good alternative” to a deal.
