UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has said that they needed a humanitarian pause “as soon as possible” to start a large-scale vaccination campaign against polio in Gaza.

The agency, while quoting spokeswoman Louise Wateridge, in a post on X said that they “cannot vaccinate children under a sky full of bombs and strikes”.

“We cannot vaccinate children who are forced to flee, who are running for their lives,” Wateridge said.
