SAHIWAL: Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal says that one-hour ‘open door policy’ must be adopted in all public offices of Sahiwal division for resolution of the citizens’ issues.

He gave the direction while chairing a meeting of district and divisional heads here at Commissioner Office on Sunday.

Mr Afzal said the citizens should be given priority for resolution of their grievances by the public servants. He urged the officers to enhance efforts for good and transparent governance, saying that transparency and effective delivery must be the key to governance.

Earlier, Ali Bahdur Qazi, the commissioner, gave a briefing on all mega development projects being carried out in the division.

The chief secretary visited the teaching hospital’s emergency ward and talked to the attendants and patients. He directed the price magistrates to keep an eye on price hike and a check on prices.

The CS directed three deputy commissioners to regularly visit land record centres for early resolving of citizens matters.

He planted a sapling on the commissioner office premises.
