Muslim Club, Lyallpur start with victories

MULTAN: Muslim Club Chaman and Lyallpur FC got off to winning starts in the Pakistan Premier Football League which is being played under the court-appointed Pakistan Football Federation led by Ashfaq Hussain Shah, which is not recognised by FIFA.

Muslim Club edged past Pakistan Navy 1-0 while Faisalabad’s Lyallpur came from behind to win a thriller against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited 3-2 in matches played here at the Qasim Bagh Stadium on Monday night.

Fareedullah’s 32nd-minute strike made the difference for Muslim Club against Navy before Mohammad Sufyan’s brace saw Lyallpur come from 2-1 down to win.

Sufyan’s first goal in the 40th cancelled out Zeeshan Ali’s 12th-minute opener for SNGPL, who went in front again in first-half stoppage time through Touseef Ahmed. But Sufyan levelled matters again in the 62nd before Sagar scored the winner three minutes later.
