SARGODHA: A man stabbed his wife to death on Sunday for demanding daily expenses at village Mela, some 45km from here.
Fights between Muhammad Yousuf and his wife Firdous Bibi over expenses were a routine. On Sunday, the couple, once again, had an exchange of harsh words over the same issue and Yousuf stabbed Firdous to death. He escaped after committing the murder.
The Mela Police Station shifted the body of the mother of three to hospital for a post-mortem.
The Mela Police Station registered a case against the suspect.
VACCINATION: The health department declared the performance of 12 vaccination centres in four districts of the Sargodha division, namely Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar, as unsatisfactory and directed the deputy commissioners and chief executive officers (CEOs) of health to take immediate steps.
According to the sources, the Covid vaccination is in full swing at the centres in all the four districts like other cities.
It is learnt that director general monitoring team of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Islamabad visited THQ centres of tehsils of Bhera, Sahiwal, Kot Momin, Shahpur, Quaidabad, Isakhel, Paplan, Darya Khan and Kalorkot besides the TB Hospital Sargodha, Deputy DHO Office Nurpur Thal in district Khushab and declared the vaccination process unsatisfactory.
The Sargodha commissioner expressed concern on the situation, asking the Health Services Sargodha Division director, the deputy commissioners and CEOs of Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar districts to use all possible means to improve performance of the vaccination centres and submit a report on the low rate of vaccination.
