With reference to The Dawn of Advertising in Pakistan (1947-2017) two photographs accompanying two articles are incorrectly captioned ‘Going up in smoke!’ on page 33.
The caption should read: “Prior to the restrictions imposed on tobacco advertising, cigarette brands were one of the most heavily advertised product categories across all media, including Dawn. This is evident from the fact that almost a decade ago, the estimated advertising budget of the tobacco industry in Pakistan was Rs 55 million.”
