Freewill marriage couple killed

KHUZDAR: A couple who had contracted marriage against the wishes of their families was killed in the Raik area of Bela tehsil, Lasbela district, on Tuesday.

Police have arrested the suspects who slit the throats of the couple with a sharp knife.

According to police, Mohammad Anwar and Husna, residents of Sibi, married two months ago after falling in love with each other.

As they received threats from their relatives, they left Sibi and settled in the Raik area. But Husna’s relatives kept searching for the couple and finally tracked them down in the Raik area.

“On Tuesday Mohammad Bachal and Mohammad Aslam Jatoi barged into the couple’s house at a farmhouse of local farmer Mohammad Siddiq and slit the couple’s throats with a sharp knife,” a police official. Later Mohammad Bachal and Mohammad Aslam were arrested.
